Jessica Bashirian
The Elroy Fair would like to dedicate this year’s fair book to Jessica Bashirian. Jess has loyally served the Elroy Fair for the past 30 years in a multitude of capacities. She has served most notably as treasurer for the fair, but also on various fair committees. She represented the Elroy Fair at annual Wisconsin Association of Fairs (WAF) conventions, spring and fall district meetings, zone meetings from Wisconsin to North Dakota, and the International Association of Fairs and Expositions (IAFE) convention held in Las Vegas. Jess was a two-time deserving recipient of Wisconsin Association of Fairs awards. In 2001, Jess received the Outstanding Fair Person Award for board members serving under 12 years on their fair board. This was followed by the WAF Hall of Fame Award in 2009 which is given to those serving more than 12 years on their fair board. Upon joining the Elroy Fair Board, one of the first things Jess accomplished was signing the Elroy Fair up as a member of IAFE. This membership led to the Elroy Fair becoming nationally known and respected for its achievements. From working the door at the Elroy Fair-sponsored haunted house and putting on wristbands for paid fair events to filing many years of annual reports, Jess has always been a person the board could count on. She helped keep us grounded with some of our wild ideas and has served the fair with fiscal responsibility. Jess helped secure the fair’s 501(c)3 status as a non-profit entity. She is also a founding and continuing sponsor of the Dairy Bonus. Jess has been active in many capacities outside of the fair including serving on Elroy’s Community Development Authority, as chief election inspector for the City of Elroy, a member of the Friends of the 400, and the former police commission. Jess owned Royall Awards and provided the fair with ribbons and Fairest of the Fair sashes for many years. She also enjoys quilting and has won awards for her stitching. It is with great honor and gratitude that the Elroy Fair recognizes Jess Bashirian by dedicating to her the 2026 premium book. Thank you for 30 years of service to the Elroy Fair.
